After many delays, fans of Ports 1961 can rest easy. The brand's new store at 3 Ninth Avenue is finally open. The store reflects the brand: modern but with nods to eccentricity and international nomadic charm. It's an oasis of serenity in the cuckoo crazy Meatpacking District so stop in and take a peek.

I visited this store in June and it was breath-takingly beautiful with it's "Frank Lloyd Wright" concept of including nature indoors with a glassed-in "column" that allowed all the seasons and weather to infuse all three floors of the store. The top floor had a lovely, peaceful view of all the surrounding area; and was perfect for hosting small cocktail and presentation parties. It would be perfect for a celebrity entrouge for viewing and trying on Tia's gorgeous fashions undisturbed by the public or paparazzi as there is a separate entrance from the store. The store is small, but well displayed. There are two standard dressing rooms with yards and yards of fabric for doors, but the "star" literally, is the VIP dressing room where there are "oodles, and oodles of fabric" for the doorway and a very comfortable chair designed out of coins that you will have to see and sit to believe. Fortunately for me, Tia Ciabani, herself gave me the tour, but anyone there would be of cordial assistance. Shop and Be Happy!!!!
