1. We live in public. A British couple is staying (for free) in a storefront window in the Roger Smith Hotel on Lexington Avenue and 47th Street until Saturday, January 31. Stop by and say hello.

3. And the winner is... The annual music program at PS1 in Long Island City is always one of the highlights of our summer in the city. Yes, there's great music, but the venue is also a showcase for young architects. This year Hilary Sample and Michael Meredith with the firm MOS were selected from five finalists to construct an urban landscape in the courtyard. Their design -- "afterparty" -- will be on view starting in June.
