1. Fabulous family and friends
2. Pumpkin, apple, and mince meat pies
3. Deliciously stuffed turkey… or, if you want to be the black sheep of the house (like I was, purposefully, in middle school), Tofurkey.
4. Some nice jazz music to play while waiting for your guests to arrive (think classic Etta James, Coltrain, Duke Ellington)
5. And last, but not least, a look to make heads turn…. My advice: an L.L. Bean flannel oxford tucked into blue jeans; a Charvet bow-tie; a nice jacket (think Dior Homme or Gucci); top the look off with a Barbour or Belstaff in hunter green; and don't forget your Ray-Ban Wayfairers for a deliciously cool entrance.
