Introducing London Fashion Week Guest Blogger Henry Holland

Throughout London Fashion Week (and yes, if you're curious, we are still recovering from New York), the designer behind cheeky-fabulous fashion line House of Holland, Henry Holland, will be blogging for PAPERMAG. Here's his first installment.

So yesterday was the official first day of London Fashion Week in biblical terms, being Monday and all. The schedule was packed with some of the city’s biggest names, Marios Schwab, Luella, Julien Macdonald, Paul Smith etc. But I only got to see them on the Internet as the pictures came through. I’m in casting HELL. Forty-eight hours in and still trying to get my favourite girls and spending all my time chasing accessories, leathers, shoes and er, Chinese takeaways. I did manage to sneak out of the studio for a couple of hours to go to a drinks reception at 10 Downing Street (our version of the White House)!! Getting in was like being at the airport –- removing all our metallic objects (Hermes bangle not included) and passing our bags through the x-ray machine. Inside was pretty spectacular -- big paintings on the staircase, huge persian rugs. If it wasn’t for the unflattering primrose yellow on the walls, all good I’d say. Naomi Campbell was there handing out tickets to her charity show on Wednesday night. Diane Von Furstenburg came over too, but the gossip of the night was Julien Macdonald who, after his show yesterday, managed to gate-crash with his two elderley parents using their bus passes as photo ID... Pure genius. But now I’m back in the studio working on running orders, credit sheets and seating plans, oh and finally getting my hands on the Chinese take out!
