1. 2. Speaking of which, the Sotheby's auction of 200 new works by the aforementioned Mr. Hirst is set to rock the art world next week (September 15 & 16 in London) whether it succeeds or fails. If it reaches the estimate of $92 million, expect more artists to bypass galleries and sell new works through auction houses and if it flops, you'll see lots of pissed off collectors wondering why they paid so much for their Hirst.

4. The second edition of the all-night takeover of the Brooklyn Academy of Music will take place on Saturday, September 27 from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. featuring a music program curated by Sufjan Stevens, DJs King Britt and Victor Duplaix and various films and video art. Tickets are $20 in advance.
