Peter Davis' Status Update: Jim Shi Resigns!

I'm shocked! My onetime co-worker, fashion news editor of The Daily/fashionweekdaily.com, Jim Shi, has suddenly resigned. A relentlessly omnipresent figure in the fashion world, Shi was a master at getting scoops, often ruffling the feathers of the fashion flock. Shi has told friends that he needed a vacation. With Shi gone, who will report all that overheard gossip in the front row?

Peter, this is crazy. I'm shocked. Who will they find to walk around in shower shoes and juicy couture sweats?

Holy Sh*t that's a HOT job for someone. Sadly, he often looked exhausted by it...

I heard he didn't resign -- that he was fired. And that it was a long time coming.

Finally he is really gone. He couldve done such great reporting, however he didnt have the finesse to get the trust of those in the fashion industry, and finally people had enough of him. He was introduced to many, but his personality got the best of him. Hopefully he wont turn up at NYT!!! that would be a nightmare!!!

Jim Shi did a great job at The Daily. He single-handedly made Fashion Week Daily a must-read and a worthy competitor to publications like WWD. I am a veteran of the fashion industry and trust me, no one worked harder or with more passion for his job than Jim. No one was more dedicated. Yes, he was tough and at times not necessarily the easiest to work with, but he knew how to do his job and accepted no excuses from anyone. It's too bad that all you bitter and jealous people are so bitchy that all you want is someone to gossip about. Take a look at yourself before you start talking about others. Any publication would be lucky to have Jim on their staff. He worked his ass off.

Jim,
The above was the best thing you ever wrote in your entire career.

Jim went to my high school and he was one of the most hated and selfish students I've met. He was extremely coat-throat and competitive. By all means, it is great to have healthy competition, but he went overboard. He used to volunteer his time at the college office in our high school. He would review everyone's rankings, test scores and other personal information.

His flaming attitude has gotten the best out of him. Now, he has nothing and I am glad he can take his vacuous lifestyle and drink his sorrows away.

He was very flaming and for him to be obssessed with fashion isn't a surprised to all of us.

Funny thing is, he has lost contact with all his friends from childhood and high school because of his vile personality

Good Riddance to Jim Shi!

I agree with the comment above. I went to the same high school as Jim.
