Caribbean Fashion Week: Runway Wrap-up

Caribbean Fashion Week

What I saw on and off the runway during Caribbean Fashion Week exceeded whatever I might have anticipated -- both the good and the bad. The fashion was as diverse as it could be, from the sexy little bikinis to dancehall get-ups, to black-tie-worthy gowns. When the designers hit the right notes they were as grand as anything you might see in big cities like New York. But what they didn't have was big city time management and organization. Of course, one does not go to Jamaica necessarily expecting those qualities -- it has other things to offer. However, when you're aspiring to be a player on a global platform and invite guests from around the world, it's bit of a shame that they fell short of making the best impression. Having said that, I think Jamaica is still awesome and I would go back, fashion or not. Here's the last batch of ensembles and models that made the experience all a worth while.
