Royal Wedding in Luxembourg

MMBlog has reported in the past on the little nipper born to Prince Louis of Luxembourg and his soldier girlfriend Tessy Anthony. Little Gabriel was born in March and his parents will be married next month in Gilsdorf. They met while both were serving in Kosovo which might be the best PR Kosovo has had. Pristina is for lovers!
Louis will have to give up his place in the succession (he's #3 right now). MM doesn't what the title situation will be. Hopefully Tessy will be at least a Countess. MM doesn't know why he cares about titles but he does!!! And so do you or you wouldn't be a loyal MMBloggers!!!

Why will he have to give up his place in the succession? Luxembourg can't have a draconian House Rule like the Romanovs that says "only princesses or you're out!" The Benelux countries are usually so progressive.

Frank, MM agrees with you about the succession thing but MM read on theroyalforums that Louis has to give up his spot. Maybe it's because of the child out of wedlock thing? Louis's father married a commoner (and MM thinks the late Grand Duchess Josephine-Charlotte was pretty bitter about it) and he didn't lose his spot in the succession.

They don¥t have rules like that anymore. Both the present grand duke as his brother Guillaume married commoners (Marie-Theresa Mestre and Sybilla Weiller resectively) but did not lose their rights on the throne.
So that won¥t be the reason.
The uncle of Louis, Prince Jean of Luxembourg had children out of wedlock (and later married) with Helene Vestur and he lost his place in the succession too! His children are now still counts and countesses though. Poor Helene never got a title, she was the in-law that Josephine-Charlotte detested most, even more then ¥la petite cubaine¥.

Who cares about this couple. Luxembourg should become a republic. All this silly titles rubbish
